First Christmas

Grandma Solverson went absolutely nuts with the Christmas outfits today. Notice the matching blankets, stockings, and trousers. Poor kid. It was otherwise an uneventful day... we took a nap, then we took a walk, then just hung out.

Bathing

With a slippery, slimy baby, bath time can be quite an ordeal, especially when they start pooping and peeing all over the place (sorry no pictures of that!) And with grandparents in the background scrutinizing your every action, paranoid that you're not supporting his head or you're being too rough or you're gonna burn him, it almost convinces you that you're doing it all wrong. Luckily, Isaac likes his hot tub.

Gon-gon & Po-po arrive for first Christmas

Isaac's first Chinese lessons have begun with the arrival of Grandma and Grandpa Yang. They disembarked the plane with a suitcase-full of Chinese food -- veggies, meats, and goodies -- "postpartum sustenance" as Jo calls it, and they've already initiated the cooking frenzy.

Isaac's first week home

We came home a little over a week ago...I have to say the sleepless nights are the worse! But praise the Lord that we have awesome family and friends that freely gives up their sleep so that we can catch a few hours of unbroken rest. Dan is back at work and adjusting well. Its so awesome to see him interact with Isaac. He is such a good dad. I think being a parent also make you realize what a team you are as a married couple. We are definitely closer than before and Isaac is a blessing. Until next time..please pray that he'll get into a sleep routine.:)

Visitors

The day Jo was discharged from the hospital, Grandma Maureen and Aunt K-bone came to the rescue. Rescuing the parents who are dying of sleepless nights. Today, God-mother Muriel came to help. We are so blessed with many people helping us during this exciting time!

Surprised

I'm wondering if other red-heads have experienced the same degree of recessivity regarding physical traits. After a thorough comparative analysis of Jo's baby pictures, I have discovered that Baby Isaac completely resembles only Jo, and that there is no hint of me. Top is Baby Isaac. Bottom is Baby Jo. See the difference? I don't...I mean, I'm having a difficult time finding even some eye folds or pronounced nose bridge or light eyes or... too excited in general to think about the issue any further at this time. Just thought Dad should post his two cents.

Humm....

Well, it seems my 38th weeks has come and going by SLOWLY...Dan and I are so anxious for this baby to come, we can't wait anymore! Everyone including my midwife thought I would of deliver by now. Oh well, as long as the baby is happy in limited uterine space its alright with me.
Today, it SNOWED in the great Northwest. I thought I had moved away from the snow. But here I am studying for boards and enjoying the white flurries outside. It's not cold like Chicago, but definitely an interesting sight. On the news, they are calling it "severe weather warning" and people are running out to get snow tires and chains. Dan and I can't believe it!
We'll have more baby updates..Hopefully soon!
